Welcome to the U-SPACE Dependability, Security, and Resilience for Future Airspace Safety (U-SPACE 2025) workshop. We are delighted to host you at the first edition of U-SPACE, dedicated to exploring both current and emerging challenges and solutions to ensure the safety of future airspace. This workshop specifically focuses on advancing dependability, security, and resilience within U-space—the European framework for managing UAV traffic—to support safe UAV operations, particularly in urban airspace environments.
The U-SPACE workshop is co-located with the 20th European Dependable Computing Conference (EDCC 2025), which will be held in the beautiful city of Lisbon, Portugal, from April 8th to 11th, 2025. This event provides an excellent opportunity for exchanging ideas with a wider community and finding new project partners for future collaborations.
The European Dependable Computing Conference (EDCC) is a leading venue for presenting and discussing the latest research, industrial practices, and innovations in dependable and secure computing, with a long-standing tradition that began in 1994 and now celebrates its 20th edition.
The objectives of this workshop closely align with the core goals of the EDCC. Given the rapid evolution of UASs and U-space, along with their increasing complexity and the critical importance of safety in urban airspaces, the scope of concerns has naturally expanded beyond dependability to encompass security, safety, and resilience.
